The goal of this bill is to demonstrate that the citizens of Massachusetts support the bill #H483, An Act Relative to the Prevention of Bullying. The people of this state demand action against bullying and a remedy for its victims. Massachusetts has been attempting to pass legislation to this end but has failed each time. We must let them know that the time to act now and this bill must be passed. We must come together as one and use our collective voice to influence the vote. We the people actually do have the power to make the system work for them. We just have to do it together. In light of the recent suicide of the student, Phoebe Prince, it is clear now more than ever that this problem must be prevented. This bill would provide for training for faculty, an anonymous hotline for reporting incidents, and tougher penalties for the bullies. We can put an end to this epidemic if we unite. Let's use our voice. Signers of this petition MUST be citizens of Massachusetts and at least 18 years of age.
