Created on

Ash Mackinnon created the "Bring Cyberknife to Australia" Facebook group to assist Australians (& actually is helping overseas cancer patients also) obtain Cyberknife for treating their cancer. He helped me 2 yrs ago and now I am cancer free after being given several months to live. We are able to apply for MTOP (medical treatment overseas program) via Australian Gov't health Department. This program pays for airfare, accom, treatment etc. However when Ash and his wife Leah were forced to USA for treatment for her 9 brain tumours, they were rejected by MTOP and now Ash, after the death of Leah from liver failure, is left a single dad of 2 lovely kids and a medical debt over $80,000. This petition is to be presented to MTOP with the aim of getting them to reverse the decision to deny Ash funding. Leahs tumours were effectively treated. She had to go twice to USA as after 1st treatment 5 tumours were eradicated, leaving only 4. These were treated on the 2nd trip but she passed away about 6 mths later. Please sign and lets see if we can help Ash.

My wife had gone through the wringer here in Australia and was getting worse. We saw Ashley's story on Today Tonight and were able to go overseas and get Cyberknife for Eva's lung cancer. That was a couple of years ago and now she is doing really well. When I think of what might have been I am so greatful for every day. Why dont we have this wonderful treatment in Australia? Would save lives and money.
Without finding out about Cyberknife I would be dead now, I have never met this man but have spoken on the phone and through emails and what a giving person considering what he has had to go through, all with a young family. This petition is the 1st I knew of his situation, he never lets on just helps others get better. If only the politicians would take note of how to help fellow Australians. More than happy to sign my name to this cause. Best of luck. Tony
